FAQ

Questions firms ask first.

Is Consortium Legal a law firm?

No. Consortium Legal is not a law firm. It does not practice law, give legal advice, represent anyone, or refer anyone to a lawyer. It provides non-legal business services only to law firms, under written agreements.

Who decides which matters the firm takes?

The firm's lawyers alone. Our intake staff gather the facts the firm's attorneys need and pass complete information to them. The attorney decides.

Do you send callers to other firms?

No. Each client firm has its own advertising, phone numbers and intake scripts, and we never send a person who contacts one firm to a different firm.

Do you contact potential clients?

Only people who have contacted the firm and asked to be contacted. We do not solicit anyone, and we do not pay anyone for referrals.

Who approves the firm's advertising?

The firm's responsible attorney approves every advertisement before it runs, and every ad runs in the firm's own name.

Do you hold client funds?

No. We never hold, handle, receive or have signing authority over client funds, settlement payments or attorney trust accounts.

Who owns the firm's files and data?

The firm owns its client relationships, files and data.

How is an engagement priced?

Each engagement is set out in a written agreement with the firm. Contact us for a proposal.

Can a firm start with one service?

Yes. A firm can use one service or several, and add more later under its written agreement.
